David Wonderling, Ph.D.

David Wonderling completed his training as a health economist at the University of York in 1994 after a first degree in economics. He was a research fellow at Brunel University and Lecturer at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where he conducted an economic evaluation of acupuncture for migraine alongside a randomised controlled trial.
Since 2004 his work has focused on economic evaluation in the context of developing clinical guidelines for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. In doing so he has worked at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and currently at the Royal College of Physicians, London, where he is Head of Health Economics at the National Clinical Guidelines Centre. He is also Associate Reader at the Health Economics Research Group at Brunel University.
