Director of Evidence Based Medicine Centre in TUCM Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 
Dr. Zhang has mainly engaged in clinical evaluation of traditional Chinese herbal medicines and acupuncture.
He accepted the training of evidence-based medicine in the Chinese Cochrane Centre and University of Exeter and has participated in several multi-center clinical trials and focused on postmarketing evaluation of herbal medicines.
In the past five years, he has published about 40 papers and 4 books and gained a National Award of Science and Technology in China.
Dr. Zhang is an editorial board member of Focus on Alternative and Complementary Therapies and a peer reviewer for more than ten journals such as the Lancet, eCAM and Plos One.
